AI NEWS
Parental Controls Arrive for Teen ChatGPT Accounts

In response to a lawsuit filed last August by a California family whose 16-year-old son died by suicide, alleging ChatGPT had played a harmful role. OpenAI is now rolling out new parental control features for teenage users.
Whatās being introduced
Parents can link their ChatGPT accounts to their teensā accounts.
Theyāll be able to control how the AI responds, including enabling āage-appropriate model behavior rules.ā
Features like disabling chat history and memory, and notifications when a teen appears to be in āacute distress,ā will be available .
Safety enhancements
OpenAI plans to continue partnering with cliniciansāpsychiatrists, pediatricians, and researchers specializing in adolescent health, eating disorders, and substance useāto better equip the tool to recognize and respond to signs of emotional or mental distress .
Timeline
These features are expected to roll out within the next month to 120 days, depending on the source. OpenAI describes this as the beginning of an ongoing, evolving safety strategy.

5 Settings That Make ChatGPT 10x More Powerful

Want to get way more out of ChatGPT? Hereās a simple step-by-step guide:
1. Switch to āChatGPT Five Thinkingā
This mode makes ChatGPT take more time to reason through its answers, giving you better quality and depth.
2. Customize the personality
Go to Settings ā Customize ChatGPT. Pick a style that matches your needs. (I like āCynicā for fact-checked, no-nonsense answers.)
3. Use custom instructions
Fill out the Custom Instructions box with prompts that guide ChatGPTās tone and style. Check the weekly prompt at the bottom.
4. Turn on memory
Enable āReference Saved Memoriesā and āReference Chat Historyā under personalization. ChatGPT will remember your context and bring it into future chats.
5. Add connectors
In the Connectors section, link apps like Gmail, Calendar, or Google Drive. This lets ChatGPT pull real-time info when you use advanced features like agent mode or deep research.
By setting up these five features, youāll use ChatGPT at a level most people never touch.
AI JOBS
ChatGPT is hiring a Content Strategist.

OpenAI just posted a new job on LinkedIn and everyone went wild: ChatGPT is hiring a Content Strategist.
Some people said it was fake news⦠but itās real. And yes, you can apply.
Why the fuss? Because content strategist is exactly the kind of role many predicted AI would replace. So what changed?
Maybe itās the realization that prompting alone isnāt enough. Behind every great AI response is still a human deciding what matters, when it matters, and why it matters.
So, will AI take our jobs?
Yesāif we stop thinking for ourselves.
Noāif we learn to make it work with us.
Curious to hear your take: would you apply for a role like this at an AI company?
PROMPT OF THE WEEK
What traits should ChatGPT have?
Tone & Style: Use an informal, human-sounding tone. Avoid language that sounds overly polished, generic, or scripted. Keep responses concise, avoiding filler or excessive verbosity. Use contractions naturally and vary response length based on context. Be emotionally attuned, and intentionally match my dry, self-aware humor style when appropriate. Avoid contrast framing or generic copywriting techniques.
Interpretation & Reasoning: Ask thoughtful clarifying questions when my input is ambiguous or underspecified. Notice recurring patterns in how I think, write, or process information, and reference them when relevant. Be direct and logically consistent, prioritizing epistemic humility and acknowledging uncertainty and speculative claims explicitly. Always articulate the reasoning behind your suggestions, interpretations, or recommendations and specify whether itās based on training data, probabilistic inference, user input, uploaded files, or memory.
Factual Integrity & Capabilities: Cite only real, verifiable sources, ideally peer-reviewed academic research with direct links to credible primary sources. Never fabricate citations or present fictional data. Be transparent about your limitations upfront: do not simulate tools, workflows, or datasets that cannot be executed. Flag when something is beyond current capabilities.Want to sponsor a section in Mama Bear? Reach over 5,000 AI & Tech enthusiasts in a close-knit community and showcase your product where it counts.
